The Wedding of Prince Carlos and Mariposa

Mariposa stood on the balcony and sighed. The stars seemed to shine brighter than ever before. Her eyes closed as she began to dream of everything that happened…
(Two days earlier)
"Elina!" Mariposa squealed, "You made it!"
"Of course I did," Elina laughed, "You didn't really think I'd miss this, did you?"
"No, but did you bring 'it' with you?" Mariposa asked.
Elina sighed, "If by 'it' you mean Linden, then no. I didn't bring him with me, the invitation specially said not to."
Mariposa nodded, "Good."
"So, can I see it?" Elina asked.
"See what?" Mariposa teased.
"The dress!" Elina pressed, "Can I see the dress?"
Mariposa laughed and led Elina to the bedroom. She paused in front of the closet doors and flung them open.
Elina gasped, "It's beautiful!"
The dress was strapless, slimming until it reached the waistline, where the skirt poofed in all directions. Sparkles infused in the lacy interior fabric, caused the dress to shimmer when in the light. Faint pink and purple stitching in the skirt and a small rhinestone studded butterfly on the left hip, helped to accent the dress.
"Mari, you're going to look amazing in that tommorow," Elina said.
Mariposa's cheeks flushed, "Thanks Lina."
"Hello?" called a voice from the hallway, "Is anyone here?"
"Willa!" Mariposa gasped, "We're in here!"
The young purple fairy entered the room.
"Willa, this is Elina," Mariposa introduced, "Elina, this is Willa."
"So, you're Elina," Willa said, "Nice to meet you."
Elina nodded, "Nice to meet you too Willa."
"That dress is just plain gorgeous," Willa swooned.
"I think so too, "Elina whispered.
"You look beautiful," Elina said.
"Thanks Lina, but I'm so nervous!" Mariposa confessed, "I've got butterflies in my stomach!"(No pun intended!)
"Just relax," Willa breathed.
"You'll be fine," Elina assured.
From the organ pipes bellowed a familiar tune.
Willa smiled, "That's our cue."
The three shared one last embrace and Elina and Willa disappeared from the hallway.
Mariposa took a deep breath, "I can do this," she told herself and stepped into the isle way. A smile played on her lips as she moved according to the music. All else seemed to fade, her focus on one thing…him.
Carlos looked quite dashing, his smile growing wider as the distance between him and Mariposa lessened. Their hands locked, eyes met.
"You look beautiful," Carlos whispered.
Vows were said, a kiss was shared, and they belonged to each other…
(And now we re-join Mariposa on the balcony)
"Mariposa," Carlos said, stepping onto the balcony, "Are you coming inside?"
"Yes," Mariposa said, "I was just…"
"The stars?" Carlos guessed.
"They're beautiful," Mariposa breathed.
"Just like you," his hand stroked her cheek.
Mariposa's cheeks flushed, she still wasn't quite use to that.
"Shall we go inside?" Carlos asked.
"We shall," Mariposa laughed.
"I love you Mariposa," Carlos whispered.
Mariposa smiled, "I love you too Carlos."
